Warranty on the ‘waterproof’ iPhone 7 not cover water damage
Last week iphone released new iphone 7 and iphone 7 pluse. Both phones come with intreating features this time.
Now company come with new feature water proofing phone. iphone 7 is the first iphone that is waterproof and comes with high waterproof rating – IP67. it’s comes under splash resistant.
Downside in warranty is if iphone 7 or iphone 7 pluse will wet and not work then it’s not covered in warranty. yes, its true that warranty don’t covers water damage.
Apple iphone warranty is clear that water damage is yet possible. Therefore it not covered. As warranty water and dust condition is tested in laboratory condition with rating of IP67 under IEC standard 60529.
As per apple official site “Splash, water, and dust resistance are not permanent conditions and resistance might decrease as a result of normal wear”.“Do not attempt to charge a wet iPhone; refer to the user guide for cleaning and drying instructions. Liquid damage not covered under warranty.”
At a recent event, the company showed a man falling into a pool with their phone. Apple implied that this would not be a problem.
The new device has the same water resistance rating as the first version of the Apple Watch.
Whether you did not want to risk testing out just how waterproof your expensive new iPhone is is another matter entirely.
